Welcome to 'Harrogate 2007'!

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in our 19th National Meeting, a very important occasion for us as we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the British Neuroscience Association (formerly known for many years as the Brain Research Association). We are also collaborating on this occasion with Neuroscience Ireland to commemorate their recent inauguration, and this has greatly enhanced our programme and should very much widen our appeal. Neuroscience is a particularly vibrant discipline in Ireland and is set to grow, so we welcome this opportunity to join forces and, perhaps, create new markets for you.

The BNA now has over 2000 members and regularly attracts between 600 and 800 delegates to its meetings. Neuroscience Ireland has pledged to try and boost this number so we very much hope to reach this and beyond. You may already know that Harrogate International Centre offers first class, purpose-designed conferencing and exhibiting facilities so you can expect professional treatment at all times. Moreover, Harrogate is a very attractive Victorian spa town, located in spectacular Yorkshire countryside and exceptionally well endowed with quaint shops, restaurants and bars - well worth visiting if you haven't done so already!

As always, we have endeavoured to encourage delegate interaction with the exhibitors as much as possible and you will be able to see from the exhibition plan (back page) that the poster sessions and all the catering outlets are accommodated in Hall D. There will be two 'poster and exhibition' sessions each day, between the morning and evening plenaries and the symposia. In addition, there will be scheduled 'demonstration times' when you will have the opportunity to give PowerPoint presentations on your company and its products to our delegates, either in a seminar room or by your exhibition booth, if you wish. Please indicate on the booking form whether you would like to take advantage of this part of the programme.

The full scientific programme of invited plenary and symposia speakers can now be viewed on this website. Poster themes and abstracts will be available approximately one month after the abstract deadline (31st January, 2007) and at least four weeks before the conference begins. There will also be a full range of peripheral events and social gatherings for you to enjoy as well - including our birthday party!

To facilitate your participation in this Exhibition, bookings can be made by post or fax on the downloadable form. There will also be regular updates of stand occupancy and availability.

We very much look forward to seeing you next spring, and thank you in advance for your invaluable support and continuing interest in the activities of the BNA!
