To achieve our goals, Roche pRED Neuroscience & Rare Diseases is currently undergoing a major and exciting recruitment effort for a large number of new positions including a Biomarker Experimental Medicine Leader - Neuroimaging Statistical Scientist in the BTT. All positions are based in Basel, Switzerland.

This role is within the BTT group focused on the development and application of molecular and imaging biomarkers to support clinical testing of novel treatments for neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, autoimmune, and rare genetic diseases of the central nervous system.

You will be responsible for the delivery of biomarker strategies encompassing molecular imaging, genetics and fluid biomarkers, translating from preclinical through the early stage of clinical development. In addition, you will coordinate developments and validation of biomarker assays across these modalities, in order to provide tools for compound evaluation and patient stratification throughout the phases of drug development.

Requirements

  • PhD in physics, computational medicine, neuroscience or related discipline.
  • Good understanding of molecular biomarkers and clinical imaging methodology
  • Experience with statistical analysis of imaging endpoints in pharma clinical trials
  • Capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, proactive attitude, problem-solving capacity and ability to work independently
  • Ability to process and analyze PET and MRI data
  • Experience with statistical packages (e.g. Matlab and R) and neuroimaging software (e.g. SPM, FSL, PMOD)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.

Desirable skills

  • Publication record in neuroimaging or related field
  • Experience in biomarker strategy development and implementation in pharma trials
  • Good understanding of the drug discovery and development process including GCP regulations
  • Knowledge of GCP imaging SOP development and all aspects related to study QC/calibration and standardization
  • Proven track record of leading the development and execution of clinical imaging studies (PET or MRI) to support neuroscience drug development
  • Experience of working with academic imaging labs and CRO’s
  • Strong influencing skills: proven abilities to get things done without formal authority
  • Good team interaction skills
