The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is Europe’s largest centre for research and postgraduate education in psychiatry, psychology and basic and clinical neuroscience. The IoPPN is world-renowned, and has the unique advantage of being co-located with the world famous Maudsley Hospital, now part of South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust.
The IoPPN and SLaM NHS Foundation Trust have a shared vision to continue world-leading research, education and clinical translation, and to achieve this ambition we are currently recruiting for a Chair in Neuropsychiatry. As one of the preeminent positions in neuropsychiatry, we are looking for a candidate to provide leadership within the Division of Academic Psychiatry, as well as work with the appropriate clinical areas of SLaM NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across both clinical and academic environments and play an important role in shaping academic strategy. S/he will have an outstanding track-record of research related to neuropsychiatry, will lead and direct research and teaching on neuropsychiatric disorders and act as a role-model and mentor to academic and clinical colleagues. Promoting active engagement and collaborations across King’s faculties, NHS partners and representing the IoPPN externally will also be essential.
There is also the opportunity for the successful candidate to take on additional responsibility as Vice-Dean (Academic Psychiatry). As Vice-Dean you will be responsible for developing and implementing a coherent strategy for enhancing education, research and translational interaction across the six departments within the Division of Academic Psychiatry.
