We are looking for a Clinical Researcher to join one of the leading stroke research groups in the UK and internationally. The researcher will work on research programmes investigating the pathogenesis and treatment of cerebral small vessel disease (which accounts for 20% of all strokes and is a major cause of vascular dementia). They will help in recruiting patients to studies and assessing patients. They will also undertake their own projects with the aim of analysing data themselves and writing up first author scientific papers. The exact projects will be decided in conjunction with the PI but current areas in which we are working include genetics of stroke, brain imaging in stroke, and clinical trials.

There is an exceptional research environment within Clinical Neurosciences at Cambridge as well as excellent opportunities to receive additional training in both Clinical Neurology and Stroke.

The project would be suitable either for a doctor already on a subspecialty training scheme in Neurology or Stroke medicine or a similar specialty, or for a doctor thinking of entering Neurology/DME or Stroke medicine.
