We are looking for an individual with a passion for science communication and experience of working with senior management and in health care.

The role is to cover maternity leave for the Communications and Engagement Manager and will lead the implementation of a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy to promote the work of the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre and joint R&D Office at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. The post will engage key stakeholder groups including staff across the King’s Health Partners Academic Health Science Centre, NIHR and Department of Health and Social Care, policy makers, patients and the public and the wider UK life sciences community including industry.

You will be able to translate scientific research into engaging communications for a variety of audiences. We are looking for an excellent all-rounder for this challenging and varied post which also includes elements of media and digital management. This post requires a flair for building relationships, influencing others, organisation, diplomacy and outstanding communications skills. You will be highly motivated and able to juggle a number of competing priorities under pressure to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will manage the Communications and Engagement Officer.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for one year.

This is a full-time post

The selection process will include a panel interview, an assessment, and a presentation.
