Inscopix stands at the forefront of Next Generation Neuroscience.  Our flagship product, nVista, has greatly expanded the number of brain regions in which the activity of large-scale neuronal ensembles can be monitored during naturalistic behavior, leading to the generation of unprecedented data sets.  In late 2016, we introduced our second-generation product, nVoke, combining the neural circuit imaging capabilities of nVista with optogenetic manipulation.  nVista was selected by The Scientist as the #1 Innovation of 2013 and has been covered in top scientific journals and media outlets. Since launching our Neuroscience Early Access Program in October 2012, we have built a significant customer base comprised of nearly 200 prestigious neuroscience laboratories (including 6 Nobel Laureate labs) and major pharmaceutical companies.  

While successful candidates will integrate with our regional Sales Managers, the primary role as a Field Scientific Consultant will be post-sales training as well as scientific consultation on experimental design and data analysis.  The primary goals of the position are to accelerate project success and progression to publication, plus offer technical advice to additional scientists to assist in proliferation of technology used within each lab and institution.  Candidates must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and target oriented individuals who thrive on the independence and scientific variety offered by this kind of technically consultative role.

Responsibilities:

Primarily post-sales technical training, project consultation and procedural support, both web-based and onsite

Limited pre-sales involvement, mostly technical presentations/seminars arranged by the sales team

Bring customer ideas and challenges into Product Development strategy and priorities

Demonstrate customer commitment through frequent and regular engagement with customers, timely complaint resolution

Increase awareness of Inscopix solutions within assigned territory

Abide by ethical commercial practices in accordance with corporate policy

Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors

May support other regional territories as needed

Requirements:

PhD in Neuroscience or closely related field in the Biological Sciences

Expertise with deep brain calcium imaging (1P/2P), fiber photometry, in vivo calcium imaging, in vivo electrophysiology and/or optogenetics

Previous experience conducting experiments with the Inscopix nVista or nVoke system a significant plus

Proven technical, analytical, and problem solving skills with a passion for using scientific rigor and applying scientific skills to help others troubleshoot scientific and experimental problems

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively and productively, both independently and within a team-centric environment

Outstanding customer advocacy, listening and interpersonal skills

Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, with particular experience presenting technical topics in academia and industry environments

Ability and willingness to travel at least 50%

Demonstrated ability to publish in peer reviewed scientific journals
