The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £43,884 - £51,769 per annum plus market supplement for clinically qualified post holders (£11,532), inclusive of London Allowance.
The Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology is a world-leading centre of research in mental health. The Clinical Psychology Doctoral course is currently the largest in the UK and has close links to NHS departments across London and to other courses across the UK. There is strong emphasis in the department on the development and evaluation of novel approaches to the treatment of mental health problems across the lifespan and on developing a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms involved. There are strong links with psychiatry and cognitive neuroscience and a Faculty wide emphasis on multi-disciplinary collaboration.
The postholder would be expected to develop a research programme (including securing competitive grant funding), and contribute towards the teaching, academic and research supervision.
The successful candidate should hold, or be about to hold, a PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline in the area of mental health or a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Holding both a PhD and clinical doctorate would be desirable but not essential.
The candidate should possess a strong academic record and show evidence of an ambitious and productive research trajectory, including having published in high caliber scientific journals.
Researchers with expertise in the area of child and adolescent mental health would be particularly welcomed, but excellent candidates from any clinically-relevant discipline are also encouraged to apply.
