Your enthusiasm for your subject will extend to providing excellent teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, informed by excellent scholarship and your own research experience.

You will benefit from a positive and collegiate working environment that values and promotes excellence in all academic activities.  The School fosters collaborative research and supports the development of real-world impact.  We actively pursue open science, with research integrity and open data practices embedded in our curricula from the first weeks of undergraduate study through to training and support for doctoral students and staff.

The School’s REF profile places it in the top third of psychology departments in the UK, with 83% of its research activity rated as internationally excellent or better.  We have a number of active research groups in the School which new appointments can join, but we are also open to launching new research areas should we identify suitable candidates.

The School houses an excellent suite of research laboratories, supported by a dedicated team of Technicians and Teaching and Research Associates. Our facilities include a dedicated BabyLab, and numerous networked laboratories supporting behavioural research, VR, eyetracking, EEG, and TMS, and from September this will include the Brain Research and Imaging Centre.  All these resources will be available to support the development of your research career.

This can be a full-time position working 37 hours per week, but we welcome applications from those seeking a part-time position, job-share arrangements or flexible working arrangements.
