New expert-led consensus to shape the future of MND drug discovery and development research

King’s College London, on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is looking to appoint a NIHR Collaboration Operations Manager to play a significant role in the set up and delivery of the newly established NIHR Translational Research Collaboration in Mental Health (TRC-MH). The post will form part of the TRC-MH core team working closely with the Collaboration’s appointed Chair, based at King’s College London and the NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) based in Twickenham.
The NIHR is a large, multi-faceted and nationally distributed organisation funded through the Department of Health. The NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) works to maximise the Department of Health’s £0.5 billion investment in clinical research infrastructure through stimulating Translational Research Collaboration (TRC), bringing together clinicians and researchers across the UK focused on specific disease areas. The aim of the TRCs is to provide a simplified route for the life sciences industry
The post-holder will support the Chair of the TRC –MH having responsibility for the day to day operational management of the collaboration, being the first point of contact for related activities and lead in the development, setup and implementation of identified projects and work streams. The post-holder will work closely with NIHR colleagues, research theme leads, principal investigators, and NHS research delivery staff nationally across the collaboration. The successful applicant will be a graduate in life sciences or a health-related field and be a self-motivated individual with ability to demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship building skills. They will have significant experience of operational management across complex organisations and be able to build working relationships across a wide geographical spread.
Please note the post holder will be an employee of King’s College London and work closely with the Chair of the TRC-MH, but the post will physically be based at the NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure in their Twickenham Office.
This post is offered on a fixed-term contract till 31st March 2022.
This is a full time (100% equivalent) post (35hrs per week)
Applications will be shortlisted against the person specification criteria in the job application pack. Interviews will be held on 10th October 2018 at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, Denmark Hill campus. The interview will include an assessment exercise.
