About ARU:
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. We are ranked in the world’s top 350 HEIs in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and in the top ten mainstream universities in the country for the proportion of UK undergraduates in employment 15 months after graduating. We have campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, London and Peterborough with around 2,500 staff and 35,000 students from 180 countries. With a focussed civic mission, we are committed to working with others through education, research and knowledge exchange to enhance the economic, cultural and social wellbeing of the communities in which we work and live.
About the role:
You will be joining the School of Psychology and Sport Science in the Cambridge campus providing essential contribution on our project “Understanding Phenotypic Trait Differences and their Impact on Habitual Behaviour: A Fully Translational Approach” funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, with Dr Sharon Morein-Zamir. This full-time role will involve recruiting and testing people in lab-based and online settings, and require experimental design and preparation, data analysis and interpretation, and dissemination of the results through conference presentations and writing reports for peer-reviewed publications. This is a collaborative project (with Dr Amy Milton at the University of Cambridge) that will also provide opportunity for training in rodent behavioural experiments. The post is available from January 17th 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter for 2 years.
You will be a highly motivated psychology graduate with a degree and a PhD (or nearing completion) in psychology or similar discipline. You will play an integral role in the execution of all aspects of the project, working with the multi-university team. Experience recruiting participants, running lab-based psychology/neuroscience experiments and strong data analysis and writing skills are essential. Programming skills would be an advantage. This is an ideal opportunity to make a valuable contribution to research, and to develop as a researcher gaining high-level skills. We have a strong commitment to providing training and development in and beyond this role.
