Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cognitive Neuroscience

Closing Date
31 Aug 2021
Duration
1 year

Job Details

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join the Braga Lab in the Department of Neurology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Under the mentorship of Rodrigo M. Braga, PhD, the lab uses and develops techniques to study the brain’s network organization and interactions at the level of individuals. Research topics broadly address the role of distributed networks in cognition in humans, including the nature of specializations for recollection, mental imagery and language.

Fellows will have the opportunity to lead and assist multimodal projects involving intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG), electric stimulation and dense-sampling or “precision” functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Fellows will have opportunities to participate and lead in data collection and analysis, mentorship of lab members, presentations at internal, national and international meetings, and publication of results. The duration of the fellowship is 1 year but likely to be extended.

Person Criteria

Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) in neuroscience or a related field, from an accredited institution. Fellows must receive their degree by the start of training or have received their degree no more than five years ago. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or be eligible to work in the United States (after obtaining an appropriate visa).

Strong candidates will have prior experience with electrophysiology, including data collection and analysis, coding, and in conducting behavioral experiments. Experience with fMRI desirable but not essential.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should email a cover letter briefly describing their research interests and qualifications, curriculum vitae, as well as the names and contact information for three references to bragalab@northwestern.edu.
