We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to integrate into a team of scientists and clinicians in the Cognitive Neurology Group. The team is led by Professor Masud Husain and hosts a wide range of research associated with decision-making, motivation and working memory in healthy people and patients with neurological disorders.

The post is available until 31 December 2022, funded by the Wellcome Trust.

The postholder will have responsibility for carrying out research on decision making and motivation in healthy participants and patients with neurological disorders. The main responsibilities include contributing to the design and programming of behavioural tests and brain imaging, running experiments, analysing and writing up data. You will assist the laboratory head with supervision of student projects, general laboratory management adhering to health and safety guidelines and upholding the ethical and research-excellence standards of the laboratory, and collaboration with other members of the group and providing guidance to less experienced members.

With a PhD awarded (or thesis to be submitted), the successful candidate will have proven experience in cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging, and an established track record with publications. You will be resourceful with the ability to act on your own initiative, possess excellent organizational and presentation skills and be experienced in the use of Matlab or coding to design paradigms and analyse data.
