15th March 2024
About the role
In this role you will conduct research aimed at understanding human learning, using predictive, action-outcome and spatial learning tasks as part of a ESRC-funded project titled “Competition and facilitation during learning: Searching for domain general principles”.
You will take a leading role in developing research and experimental design involving human participants to understand the circumstances that lead to competition or facilitation between different events involved in the learning experience. You will program the experiments, collect, analyse and interpret data. You will also present the results at meetings and write them up for publication.
You will also participate in outreach activities, implementing pathways to impact and disseminating the work to practitioners in other disciplines such as education, and the general public.
About you
With a PhD (or close to completion) in psychology, cognitive neuroscience or a related subject you will have a good background in data analysis and statistics along with experience in programming and running experiments with human participants.
Experience in mathematical/computational modelling would be beneficial, as would experience in predictive learning, action-outcome and spatial learning tasks.
