About the role

This ESRC funded project will pioneer the use of co-registration of eye movements and electroencephalography (EEG) to investigate the neural basis of ageing effects on language processing during natural reading. The project will establish the viability and utility of using this new co-registration technique to investigated effects of visual and cognitive ageing on reading. Broadly the role will involve implementing the co-registration of eye movements and EEG recording in the laboratory, developing and setting up new empirical studies, collecting and analysing data, contributing to dissemination of the work through conferences and writing for publication and implementing pathways to impact.

The project will involve extensive collaboration with colleagues at University of Central Lancashire (Prof. Simon Liversedge, Dr Federica Degno) and impact activities aimed at providing training to other researchers and publicising the out methods and findings to academic and non-academic audiences.
