The Learning and Cognitive Control Lab at Ghent University (Belgium) is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on computational models of cognitive control. The position is funded by a European Research Council Advanced Grant, “Cracking the Anterior Cingulate Cortex Code: Toward a Unified Theory of ACC Function.” ( https://cordis.europa.eu/project/rcn/216511/factsheet/en ). The position is for 2 years with an opportunity to renew and is available to start immediately. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Profile of the candidate

The successful candidate will work on the development of a hierarchical recurrent neural network model of anterior cingulate cortex. This is the initial step of a broader effort to better understand anterior cingulate cortex function (please see doi 10.3758/s13423-017-1280-1 and doi 10.1073/pnas.1803650115 for examples of the approach). A Ph.D. and background in computational cognitive neuroscience, broadly defined, is required. The applicant must have experience with neural network modeling. Prior experience with fMRI is preferred but not necessary.

How to apply

Interested candidates should email their CV, a statement of research interests, and have three letters of reference forwarded to Clay Holroyd at clay.holroyd@ugent.be. Inquiries may be directed to him at that email address.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
