We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the laboratory of Dr Alexander Davies with the aim of understanding the mechanisms of cytotoxic immunity in nerve injury and neuropathic pain. The successful candidate will employ cutting-edge cell culture techniques and in vivo models to determine the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cytotoxic neuro-immune interactions in the context of nerve injury in order to develop novel treatments for neuropathic pain. As a member of the Davies team you will have the opportunity to work alongside both Neural Injury and Autoimmune Neurology groups in the highly collaborative environment of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. It is essential that the successful candidate holds, or be near to holding, a relevant PhD/DPhil, together with relevant experience and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in neurobiology or immunology to work within established research programmes. It is also vital that the postholder is proficient in a range of wet lab techniques and can provide evidence of contributing to publications/presentations. Previous experience in pre-clinical models, flow cytometry or single-cell analysis are desirable. Candidates with a background in either neuroscience or immunology are welcome to apply.
