Reporting to Rogier Mars, the postholder will be a member of the neuroecology research group at the Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB) with responsibility for carrying out research in the field of comparative primate neuroimaging, focusing in particular on high-level comparative analysis of great ape brains. The postholder will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students. The postholder will be responsible for communication with members of other research teams, including those with different and complementary expertise.

The postholder must possess a relevant PhD/DPhil in biology, neuroscience, or a related field, together with relevant experience and specialist knowledge to work within established research programmes of the neuroecology group, including tractography of post-mortem non-human primate data. It is essential that the postholder possess the ability to manage their own academic research and associated activities, in addition to contributing new ideas to research projects and research income generation. Experience of working with FSL and programming in Shell and Matlab would prove beneficial.

The post is full-time for a fixed-term until the 31 August 2021 in the first instance.

Only applications received before 12.00 midday on 4 March 2019 will be considered. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
