We are seeking two motivated scientists, one to be on a three year MRC Postdoctoral Training Scheme/Career Development Fellowship and one to be grant funded, fixed term until 31/12/2020. You should have a PhD in neuroscience, biological science, biophysics or engineering and will work in the group of Dr Marco Tripodi.

The work will focus on neural circuits controlling goal-oriented movements in mice (http://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/group-leaders/t-to-z/marcotripodi/).

The ideal candidates will have expertise in either in-vivo electrophysiology, slice electrophysiology or multiphoton imaging in-vivo and a passion for tinkering with optics and electronics. Experience with programming in Matlab, Python, Lab View and/or other programming environments are desirable.

The project will involve a range of techniques, from recording neural activity in mice in vivo in a virtual reality environment to the use of novel viral approaches to trace and manipulate neural circuits.

A collaborative, open minded and friendly attitude is essential as the candidate is expected to work closely with other members of the lab within a multidisciplinary research group whose aim is to understand the logic of motor circuit assembly and function

The research will be conducted at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge, UK (http://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk). The institute has a long history of excellence and is affiliated with the University of Cambridge. The new LMB building was recently inaugurated and offers state-of-the-art facilities.
