Based at Alderley Park, Medicines Discovery Catapult is a national facility connecting the UK community to accelerate innovative drug discovery. The role of Postdoctoral Scientist - Neurobiology Cell Models, in the MDC Discovery group, would suit a highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about the application of iPSC derived astrocytes, microglia and neurons in complex cell models to recapitulate aspects of disease biology. Working in an interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will apply their expertise in iPSC cell culture, neurobiology, and associated methods to deliver impactful results to both collaborative projects with an external partners and internal innovation projects. Through the application of cell imaging and functional assays, the candidate will characterise the response of CNS cell types in complex cell models and execute cellular target engagement and target validation studies.
