As part of the continued development and expansion of The School of Life Sciences we are seeking to appoint a new Professor of Neuroscience. This post is a key appointment which will be of central importance in enhancing the School’s research profile, developing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and extending the School’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally. Specifically you will engage in and publish world leading research and generate significant research income; successfully supervise postgraduate students; offer leadership in research; and undertake teaching responsibilities relevant to programmes of the School. This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to develop their world leading research in a buoyant and expanding School of Life Sciences, which has strong links to the schools of Medicine, Psychology and the Veterinary Science. Applications are invited from candidates with expertise in any area of Neuroscience and its applications. You should have a PhD in Neuroscience or a related area, extensive experience of research and teaching together with a significant publication record in peer-reviewed journals and experience in gaining research funding. You should also have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, candidates should have experience in leadership in an academic environment coupled with the ability to inspire and motivate other staff.
