Job Details

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong organisational skills to develop experience in a mental health project. Applications are invited from enthusiastic project administrators to work with Professor Julia Sinclair and Professor Sam Chamberlain at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Southampton. You will support the Principal Investigators on participant recruitment, data collection and collation, and assisting with preparation of project documentation and administer a series of workshops bringing together a range of stakeholders.

The aim of the project is to bring together an international expert group in the area of autism, alcohol (AUD) and substance use disorders (SUD) and behavioural addictions to synthesise the current state of understanding in this area and identify the priorities for research from the perspective of a wide range of stakeholders.

Previous experience in working on projects in academic or clinic settings would be helpful. The candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to use their own initiative, and well-developed attention to detail.  People with lived experience of autism, substance use disorder or behavioural addictions are particularly encouraged to apply.

The post is available from the beginning of April 2021 on a part-time fixed-term basis (0.5wte) from 1st April 2021 until 30 October 2022 (18 months).

Person Criteria

  • Skill level equivalent to the achievement of NVQ2, GCSE or City and Guilds.
  • Previous work experience within an administrative role,
  • Can demonstrate good knowledge and use of online platforms, and standard IT packages.
  • Able to produce clear, accurate and concise written documentation.
  • Experience in collating text data and presenting summary information clearly.
  • Organisation and problem-solving skills.
