Duties and Responsibilities

The Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, part of the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, is seeking a Public Engagement Officer to support the researchers in all areas of public engagement and patient public involvement. Working closely with the Public Engagement Manager, the post holder will play an important role in building relationships with the researchers and assisting in the development and delivery of their public engagement events.

The post is available immediately and is funded by a grant from Wellcome Trust for the period to November 2021 in the first instance.

Key Requirements

Applicants must have experience in public engagement, science communication or a related area. They must be organised, approachable and able to manage their time effectively. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, IT proficiency at advanced user level (particularly in Excel), and a highly organised and professional approach, are also required.  A degree in science is desirable, but not essential to this role.
