This post, which is equivalent to the position of associate professor in some non-UK institutes, represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to continue to develop their world leading research in a buoyant and expanding School of Life Sciences. We are looking to appoint an internationally recognised research-active Reader in Molecular and Structural Biology to contribute to the research profile of the School and assist in teaching. The successful applicant will also be expected to bring their expertise and skills to research within the School in general, ideally to continue to build on existing links with institutions such as Institut Laue Langevin (ILL),France and to the Rutherford-Appleton Laboratory (Diamond, ISIS, RCaH) in the UK. You will have an opportunity to be involved in the strategic development of the School both in research and teaching.

You will have a Ph.D. and outstanding achievement in the conduct, outcome and impact of research within any aspect related to molecular and structural biology which compliments the research profile of the School of Life Sciences for example insect vectors and infectious diseases, infection and immunity, neuroscience or other areas of biomedical or life sciences. You will continue to develop your international research profile by establishing a world leading research group within the School. You would be expected to complement existing research activities in the School and the wider University.

Applications are therefore welcomed from individuals committed to high-quality research and teaching with a very good track record of achievement. It is our expectation that you will qualify for inclusion in future Research Excellence Framework submissions in the UK. You will be able to incorporate your knowledge and experience of the discipline into exciting learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
