Join a world-class team of health researchers and clinicians working to improve primary headache disorders. The Headache Group, led by Peter Goadsby in the KCL Division of Neurosciences, is offering an opportunity for a talented Research Associate.

This post is an exciting opportunity to improve health outcomes for the primary headache disorder patient population. The project is funded by the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).

The Research Associate will have research experience and will work within a multidisciplinary team. They will be involved in the day-to-day running and conduct of clinical research within the supportive framework of the Neuroscience Division. The research fellow will benefit from the wide range of opportunities and training available within the Headache Group, Neurosciences and Neuroimaging, and Health and Social Care Divisions to develop clinical research skills and a personal portfolio of research.


  • Degree level qualification in relevant social science or relevant related field.
  • Intervention design and evaluation, including quantitative research methods and analysis
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills at all levels
  • Experience of writing for peer-reviewed publication
  • Ability to make decisions and initiate action independently where appropriate
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective systems of administration

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in implementation and/or improvement science
