Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Research Assistant to join the memory research lab of Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. The post holder will conduct research on using behavioural, pharmacological, and molecular methods to understand mechanisms underlying aging- and dementia-related cognitive change. Key responsibilities will include rodent behavioural experiments, preparation of biological samples and chemicals, data acquisition and analysis.
Applicants should have previous experience in rodent behavioural studies. The applicant will be familiar with immunohistochemistry or related molecular biology techniques. An undergraduate or further degree in biomedical or life science (e.g. neuroscience, pharmacology, psychology) and proficiency in software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, R) are required. Current or previous PIL holder will be valued. Good communication, planning, and organisational skills are desired.
