This is a fixed-term post for a Research Worker with a degree in biomedical science, social science or health-related area. The role represents an exciting and unique opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team linking academic clinical neuroscience with a leading national clinical service for paediatric movement disorders in a programme of research aiming to transform understanding of childhood dystonia/ dystonic cerebral palsy.

The post-holder will support the study “Sensory System Abnormalities in Childhood Dystonia” (funded by the MRC and Rosetrees Trust). The study involves performing EEG and EMG recordings in children with dystonia, both with and without Deep Brain Stimulation in situ, and in healthy controls. 

The post-holder will be support the PI (Dr Verity McClelland) in screening, recruitment, study co-ordination, data collection and administrative aspects of data management. Excellent communication and organisational skills are therefore essential. Previous experience in EEG and/or working with children would be an advantage. 

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

The post is offered part time - 70% full time equivalent (24.5 hours per week)
