Applications are invited for a unique Research Assistant position. The successful candidate will be working in the Kotter Lab providing research support to a member of the Lab.
The position will be involved in supporting the groups' efforts to develop cellular reprogramming protocols of human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) to generate new "disease in a dish" models at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Wellcome Trust MRC Stem Cell Institute, a state-of-the-art stem cell facility.
The position will involve handling and culture of human stem cells, generation of biological vectors including gene editing vectors, molecular imaging techniques, as well as and genomic analysis of samples. It will also involve basic molecular biology techniques. The Research Assistant will be providing direct support to another member of the group and will be learning new technologies, as well as applying existing knowledge to procedures and bench-work.
The appointee will have a Graduate qualification in Biological Sciences, or equivalent qualification

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
