A position exists, for a Research Assistant in the Department of Engineering, to work on an experimental project to evaluate fatigue and pain in patients with arthritis, funded by Arthritis Research UK. The project involves collecting data using behavioural tasks, functional brain imaging, and wearable sensors. The successful candidate will be involved in organising and collecting data from patients, and basic analysis of data accordingly. The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge (UK), with a substantial amount of work performed at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are: - Bachelors or master degree in psychology, neuroscience or related subject - Basic research skills in the field of experimental psychology or behavioural neuroscience - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to communicate well with both a diverse scientific team and patient populations - Previous research experience in studies of psychology and behaviour, and general experience in experimental science. - Excellent organisational and management skills, ability to time manage and coordinate complex experimental projects.
