We wish to appoint a full-time Research Assistant to work on the Wellcome Trust funded project ‘Becoming Good: Early Intervention and Moral Development in Child Psychiatry (BeGOOD)’. You will be located within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team. Led by Professor Ilina Singh the NEUROSEC team has an international reputation for its work in neuroethics and psychiatric ethics. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

The post is for a fixed-term in the first instance (funded to 31 October 2020).

You will report to Professor Ilina Singh and will work closely with Dr Gabriela Pavarini and David Lyreskog to support academic paper development and the delivery of a ‘digital bioethics’ public engagement project for the main BeGOOD study, Citizens: Early Intervention in Ethics (Citizens: EIE), which aims to investigate young people’s moral attitudes and judgements. You will support the organisation of NEUROSEC’s young people’s advisory groups and will contribute to the development and execution of research studies in mental health ethics.

You will have a BSc (2:1 or above) in bioethics, psychology, or a relevant social science discipline with a substantial data analysis component. You will have evidence of contribution to high-level research publications; knowledge of bioethics, moral decision-making or ethical issues in mental health; and experience with statistical software such as SPSS and R. Experience of research ethics processes and the management of large-scale datasets is desirable.
