We are seeking to appoint a part-time Research Assistant to support our cutting-edge research in the organotypic culture of human and rodent brain tissue. You will join an ongoing research collaboration between Aston University and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital investigating the pathophysiology and treatment of Focal Cortical Dysplasia, a common cause of hard-to-treat epilepsy in children. You will be educated to degree level in a suitable discipline (Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or other related degree). Ideally you would have experience working as a research assistant in a neuroscience or molecular biology laboratory. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in organotypic tissue culture. You will be willing to work with a team of scientists from graduate students to chair level in the delivery of an exciting and fully-funded programme of work.
