There is also the possibility to contribute to studies through administering cognitive-based therapeutic techniques. The research assistant will be responsible for basic administration including recruitment and preparing ethics applications, completing data collection and data entry, basic statistics analysis (supported by the principal investigator), and contributing to writing journal publications. The research assistant will also be expected to contribute to the intellectual and academic environment of our research group. There are a number of benefits to the post, including authorship on resulting publications, regular clinical supervision regarding face to face work with clinical samples, an Honorary NHS contract, secured funding to complete University of Cambridge (e.g., statistics, research design) and NHS training programmes and to attend a domestic conference (e.g., British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies), in addition to support in developing applications for clinical psychology doctorate programmes.
You will have a degree (or equivalent) in psychology or a related discipline, plus a keen interest in experimental and clinical psychology. Experience of working with human volunteers, particularly those with mental health disorders is very desirable. You will also have a good knowledge of software packages and techniques for data analysis (e.g. SPSS) and document/presentation production (e.g. MS Office) and proved good abilities in time management.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
