The Roberts lab is a behavioural neuroscience lab using cutting-edge methods to examine the prefrontal control of negative and positive emotion and its contribution to the multi-dimensional nature of anxiety and depression. These methods include chemogenetics, neuroimaging, wireless recordings of cardiovascular activity, pharmacology and sophisticated cognitive testing.
A newly funded five-year Wellcome Trust grant is focusing on the functional heterogeneity within prefrontal cortex contributing to individual variation in the aetiology and treatment of key symptoms of major depressive disorder (MDD). We are looking for an intellectually curious and highly motivated postdoc to join a collaborative, like-minded group of researchers to lead on the neurodevelopmental aspects of this Programme.
The post is based in a well-resourced, state of the art facility within the University of Cambridge with dedicated MRI/PET scanning facilities. Applicants should either have, or shortly be awarded, a PhD in neuroscience or related disciplines. Previous experience in behavioural neuroscience and, in particular, neuroimaging is highly desirable.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 5 years in the first instance.
