We are looking for a research associate to provide support to Professor Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz's Research Group who are working on early development and stem cells in the mammalian embryo. 

The successful applicant will be integral in managing the daily lab operations. The post will have both an administrative and research component. The former will involve supporting the PI and other researchers in the smooth operation of the laboratory. This will include managing research grants held by the group, procuring laboratory equipment and consumables, managing equipment and facilities, health and safety responsibilities and supporting other research staff as appropriate. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the group's transgenic mouse colonies. The successful candidate may also be involved with helping to prepare grant applications, and other scientific manuscripts. 

The successful applicant will also be actively involved in the research and have an opportunity to carry out their own research project. Research related tasks include embryo and stem cell culture, developmental and molecular biology techniques, as well as general laboratory duties. 

You should have completed undergraduate or post-graduate studies in the field of science and have a strong desire to get involved in research. PhD required for appointment at Research Associate level. 

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance but with the possibility of extension for further years.
