Funded by the Wellcome Trust, the holder of this post will carry out interdisciplinary research investigating synaptic, neural and circuit mechanisms of associative recognition memory in rodents. The successful candidate will perform experiments combining in vitro electrophysiology and optogenetics to assess transmission and plasticity between key regions of the memory circuit and will use in vivo opto/chemo silencing methods to determine the roles of specific pathways in associative recognition.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in neuroscience or a related discipline (awarded or imminent). Experience of in vitro whole cell electrophysiology, behavioural experiments and optogenetic methods would be preferable.
