Applications are sought for a researcher to perform electrophysiological recording in various in vitro or in vivo rodent preparations. Experiments will explore the use of closed-loop optogenetic stimulation to perturb network dynamics and manipulate cortical oscillations. This is a key part of the CANDO project, which is a very large, multi-disciplinary project involving bench and computational scientists, clinicians and medical engineers, aimed at developing optogenetic treatments for human epilepsy
You will have a PhD (or nearing completion) and a strong academic background in systems neuroscience or a related field. Experience of in vivo or in vitro electrophysiology, epilepsy, neuronal imaging, optogenetics and/or neuronal oscillations is desirable.
You will work independently and as part of a team, collecting and analysing data, communicating research and preparing papers, and will have a track record of peer-reviewed journal publications. Programming abilities, mathematical skills and/or electronics experience are highly desirable.
