Research Associate

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £37,412 to £44,015 per annum, inclusive of £3,223 per annum London Allowance.

Research Assistant

The salary will be paid at Grade 5, £31,883 to £36,442 per annum, inclusive of £3,223 per annum London Allowance.

Applications are invited for a Research Associate or Research Assistant to join the Centre for Population Neuroscience and Precision Medicine (PONS) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London.

The post holder will carry out computational and wet lab-based biological characterisations of neural processes involved in brain development and behaviour that were discovered in large-scale neuroimaging-genomics datasets.  We are particularly interested in assessing genetic and environmental determinants of brain structure and functions related to psychopathology. This research will be based on a series of recent discoveries and methodological advances published by our group in top journals including Nature, Science, Nature Neuroscience, Molecular Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry and others.

The research is funded by the European Research Council, the European Commission, the UK-Medical Research Council, the U.S. National Institute of Health, the Human Brain Project and other agencies.

The post offers a unique opportunity to work with a worldwide network of collaborators and develop cutting-edge approaches in rapidly growing field of population neuroscience in one of the leading research environments in Europe and the world.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual with a track record of the highest standard in their respective fields. He/she is expected to have a strong knowledge of molecular biology and genomics, an understanding of programming, a deep familiarity with the application of statistical techniques to biological data and be experienced in several, but not all of the methods required in this programme.

Interviews are scheduled to be held shortly after the closing date.

Contract Type:

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 18 months.
