This position is full time and has funding up to 30 months in the first instance.

Central Neuropathic pain (CNP) in people with spinal cord injury (SCI) is often refractory to pharmacological treatments. Early diagnosis of CNP would be a prerequisite for preventive treatments The aim of this study is to develop software application for prediction of CNP. This work is a collaboration between the Biomedical Research Unit, University of Glasgow (Dr. Aleksandra Vuckovic) and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Glasgow to contribute to the development of state-of-the-art software package for prediction of pain in close collaboration with clinicians and patients and alongside PhD student that will be focusing on the neurophysiology of pain. Applicants should have a PhD in computer science, computational neuroscience or biomedical engineering. Experience in the programming and machine learning is essential and experience with EEG is highly desirable. The appointee must have demonstrated leading prior research outputs. Evidence of previously managing research projects would be an advantage.
