Duties and Responsibilities

The Max Planck UCL Centre for Computational Psychiatry and Ageing Research is seeking a highly efficient and enthusiastic Research Coordinator to lead the Centre's professional services operations and support the Centre Director in their role.  The post holder will be proactive in ensuring delivery of operational excellence across all relevant activities.  They will manage the Centre's budget, advise on strategic and institutional matters that impact on the Centre, and actively coordinate activity with our partner institution in Berlin.  They will promote good working practice throughout the Centre and be responsible for taking a lead on developing and evolving relevant policies and procedures and implementing those already established.

The post is available immediately and is funded for two years in the first instance from the Mary Kinross Endowment.

Key Requirements

Candidates must have substantial experience working in senior management within an HEI environment and an understanding of both the UK and German research funding environment.  Effective budgetary management and control, a proven track record in research grant application and administration, and experience of common recruitment policies and practices are essential.  A record of successful line management and development of staff with proven team leadership and motivational skills, and demonstrable experience of working with industry collaboration is also required.   German language skills and experience of working with German research institutions is desirable.
