2024 BNA Scholars announced
15th March 2024
A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Dr Leah Herrgen (University of Edinburgh), in collaboration with the research group of Dr Martin Meyer (King's College London). We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to work on neuronal information processing after brain injury. The project will investigate how injury-induced structural plasticity affects information processing in neurons within a damaged neural circuit, using the optic tectum of young zebrafish as a model system.
Requirements for the post include a PhD degree; expertise in live imaging; and theoretical and practical skills in advanced image processing and analysis. Experience in zebrafish handling and micromanipulation would be considered an advantage. Most importantly, the candidate should be driven and curious, and have a genuine interest in quantitative cellular and systems neuroscience.
The position is initially for one year. The earliest possible start date is 1 August 2018.
Informal enquiries about this position are encouraged and should be directed to Leah.Herrgen@ed.ac.uk.
The role is grade UE07 and attracts an annual salary of £32,548 - £38,833 for 35 hours each week.
This post is available on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
Closing Date: 28th July 2018 at 5pm.
