We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to investigate how humans perceive a 3D world from 2D images and to help create a machine learning system that can mimic this behaviour the ultimate aim being to produce a system that can produce perceptually realistic 3D reconstructions from 2D images.   

You will develop a novel Active Learning paradigm for training Bayesian Deep Neural Networks working with colleagues at the University of Southampton to devise new experimental protocols for testing human vision and the University of Surrey to develop novel machine learning algorithms. You will take the lead on the dissemination of findings to academics, and industry, through publications, conference presentations, and workshops. You will liaise with our industrial and academic project partners and have the opportunity of working in a multi-disciplinary team.

You should have (or be close to submitting) a PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Psychology with a strong emphasis on visual psychophysics, or Computer Science with a strong emphasis on machine learning. You should have experience of computer programing for either experiment design or machine learning.
