Applications are invited for the above post in the The Centre of Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE), School of Life Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The purpose of the role is establish novel genetic approaches to interrogate GPCR signalling in vivo and to set up a platform to translate in vitro findings of GPCR function and regulation into relevant animal models of disease. The role will involve cell-based and in vivo pharmacology to investigate GPCRs involved in CNS disorders and pain.

The role holder will work with a dynamic multi-disciplinary group that includes pharmacologists, cell biologists, biochemists and direct communication with clinicians. The role holder will be expected to present results at internal and external scientific meetings, write reports and papers, participate in writing grants, and be involved in supervision of undergraduate and PhD students.

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in pharmacology, neuroscience or related discipline.

This full-time fixed-term post is available from date of appointment for 24 months, post must start by August 2019 as funding ends in July 2021. Job share arrangements may be considered.

COMPARE is a unique collaboration between the universities of Birmingham and Nottingham.
