Applications are invited for the above post based in the research group of Professor Claire Gibson.
The research group led by Claire Gibson seeks a full-time Research Follow to join an active research programme primarily interested in investigating the mechanisms of damage following CNS injury (such as cerebral ischemic stroke) and potential therapeutic targets.The research programme will largely utilize in vivo (surgical models) and in vitro (cell culture) models of ischemic injury along with imaging (MRI), behavioural and molecular biology (e.g. RT-PCR) approaches.Additional requirements for the post include experience of immunocytochemistry, experience of working within a busy research laboratory and the willingness to contribute to ongoing experiments, and excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates must have a PhD and neuroscience research experience in applying the above technqiues within a cohesive research programme.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 4 years.
Hours of work are full-time, 36.25 hours per week. Job share arrangements may be considered.
