The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is looking to recruit for the position of a Research Laboratory & Safety Co-ordinator.

Based in the Clifford Allbutt Building (CAB) on the Addenbrookes Biomedical Campus, the post will provide a senior technical service to support all areas of the research activities undertaken by departmental groups within the building. 

This will involve assisting with the day to day management of several research laboratories, to include the procurement of central equipment and consumable supplies, management of central tissue culture facilities, local project management and health and safety.

The post will also provide technical and administrative support to the Departmental Laboratory and Facilities Manager, helping to establish and maintain a strong and positive departmental H&S culture. In addition, the post will also provide input and support to Department wide facilities management.

The successful applicant should be HNC/HND qualified (or equivalent) in a biological or chemical subject. Significant experience and understanding of health & safety guidelines and experience of working in a research laboratory environment, with a broad knowledge of chemical, biological and radiological substances, the use of a wide range of laboratory equipment and previous work as a safety specialist is essential.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
