Join our Editorial Team 

Our team works with PhD level scientists and industry experts in neuroscience and related biological sciences to develop high quality, foundational and advanced content for researchers worldwide. This content includes atlases, comprehensive handbooks, textbooks and text-reference hybrids, practical methods oriented books, fundamental introductions to the field, and research advances in fast growing areas. 

About the Role 

In this role, you will research, acquire, and develop 30+ titles in neuroscience and related biological sciences. You will monitor trends in the industry, usage of books and journals by topic, and determine what new books need to be written and by whom. You will solicit book proposals, collaborate on content, contract with authors, and work with colleagues in development, production, global rights, and sales to see the book through to successful publication and beyond.

Responsibilities 

  • Work with a global team across editorial, operations, production, sales, marketing, technology, legal, finance, and more, as well as with esteemed external experts
  • Develop deep market understanding by utilizing data tools and market research
  • Refine and execute acquisitions strategy, delivering timely content to market, with high utility for customers
  • Recruit, sign, and manage authors with subject matter expertise, creating content for the food science industry and related biological disciplines.

Requirements 

  • Ability to network and build relationships, with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Track record of meeting goals and problem solving to remove barriers to success
  • Flexibility to adapt to new systems and procedures as the publishing industry is constantly evolving
  • Analytical skills to research and collate market data to project future industry informational needs
  • Comfort working across teams and departments toward a collective publishing goal
