This post requires a scientist with the ambition and track record to develop the field of genetic and neural basis of neurodevelopmental disorders and how these affect behaviour and cognition. There is an expectation that the Senior Lecturer will work on in vivo rodent models of neurodevelopmental disorders, combining two-photon imaging, optogenetics, electrophysiology and genome engineering of disease gene locus using CRISPR-Cas9. Application of these techniques should in turn further our understanding how specific cell types and mutations affect social behaviour, and cognitive flexibility.
A demonstrable potential to attract research income from prestigious national and international sources and a record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals will also be a required.
You must have a PhD in a relevant subject area, an excellent publication record and be competitive for externally funded research grants. Career breaks will be taken into account.
