2024 BNA Scholars announced
15th March 2024
Warneford Hospital, Oxford
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher post to work on a MRC funded project involving the development of experimental medicine models for fast acting antidepressants using 7T fMRI and cognitive tests. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
This post is for a fixed-term (funded to 31 May 2022)
Whilst the role is a Grade 8 position we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 7 (£32,236 - £39,609 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.
You will be responsible for two studies in healthy volunteers and then in treatment resistant depressed patients with a ketamine challenge. You will lead and be responsible for the data collection, analysis and write up of psychopharmacological fMRI data.
You will have a PhD/DPhil in neuroscience or a relevant subject, along with demonstrable research experience, including the ability to manage data sets, and analytical skills including fMRI analysis. You will have excellent organisational and time management skills and a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement/covering letter explaining how you meet the job requirements and details of two referees as part of your online application.
The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on 24 June 2019.
