Applications are invited for a Senior Research Associate in the UCL Institute of Neurology, Department of Brain Repair and Rehabilitation, as part of the NIHR Funded Project – Impact in Biomedicine. The aim of the project is to support the development and implementation of research impact metrics in relation to biomedical research programmes within the NIHR UCLH Biomedical Research Centre.
The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with the BRC leadership team as well as colleagues in the Department of Brain Repair and Rehabilitation. Key duties will involve the validation of novel research impact metrics to establish their suitability for empirical application, and their embedding within the biomedical research.
The post is available immediately and is funded by the NIHR to 31/12/2019 in the first instance.
Key Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD in biomedicine, mathematics, physical science, computer science, or related topic, or equivalent industrial experience and a strong record of achievement in previous research. Experience of leading a team of researchers, knowledge of biomedical research and biomedicine, demonstrable experience of numerical analysis and practical knowledge of coding packages is essential. Practical experience of developing empirical measures and knowledge of research impact is also a requirement.
