Job description
The post holder will provide a highly specialist speech and language therapy service to adults with acquired and degenerative communication and/or swallowing disorders, including complex disorders, in the Regional Neurosciences unit, RICU and HDU.
The postholder will, with the Lead Clinician, provide highly specialist clinical service and leadership within the team and will take delegated lead responsibility for aspects of the clinical area according to the departmental objectives and on-going needs of the service.
Responsibilities
- To provide a high level of clinical expertise with a person-centred approach and underpinned by evidence-based practice
- To provide advice, training and support to staff and carers on how to meet the communication, eating and drinking needs of this client group.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum 4 years post qualification experience working as an SLT with adults with acquired communication and swallowing impairments to include experience of acquired neurological conditions.
- Significant experience with acquired and progressive neurological conditions relevant to this post.
