Psychology is an ambitious and expanding subject area within the Faculty of Health Sciences characterised by thriving multidisciplinary teaching and innovative basic and applied research.

Psychology has three core research groups centered on Cognition & Development, Cognitive & Clinical Neuroscience, and Mental Health & Wellbeing. Integral to our success has been a dedication to high-quality teaching and research excellence. Psychology’s overall research profile in the REF2014 was 70% world leading or internationally excellent and we were ranked 29th in the country for research intensity. The University also obtained Silver in the recent Teaching Excellence Framework assessment.

Psychology at Hull, along with York, is in the unique position of offering the only integrated Clinical Psychology doctoral training programme in the UK. Applications are open only to those students studying on the BSc Psychology undergraduate courses at Hull and York Universities.

As part of the continued development of our department, we are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to undertake a key role in the delivery of our BSc programme and Foundation programme, ranging from small group tutorials to course coordination and final year project supervision.

The successful candidate must have teaching experience in higher education, demonstrate a firm commitment to effective teaching and should hold a PhD (or have submitted their thesis) in any area of Psychology.
