CPD: The Neuroscience of Productivity

External Event - 16th Oct 2019

In this workshop neuroscientist, Dr. Gabija Toleikyte will explain what is needed for our brains to perform best and stop procrastinating.

About this Event

Your brain is constantly changing. Did you have much better memory as a child? Were you able to concentrate on reading a book for a long period of time whereas now you can barely finish a full article on the Internet? Do you tend to procrastinate and feel unable to stop no matter how hard you try? Were you once a much more optimistic person, but now you struggle to feel happy about your life?

These are just a few examples of how your brain is constantly changing based on what your brain experiences most often (scientists call this “activity-dependent brain plasticity”). In this talk, neuroscientist Dr. Gabija Toleikyte will explain the mechanisms underlying high performance, memory formation, attention and productivity and second, to successfully train your brain to be better at the tasks once again.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • What is needed for your brain to be PRODUCTIVE at work?
  • How we form memories, why our MEMORY gets worse over time and whether we can improve it?
  • What happens in the brain to control our ATTENTION?
  • What happens in the brain when we MULTITASK?
  • Why our ATTENTION SPAN is getting shorter and whether we can increase it.
  • Why do we PROCRASTINATE, why does the tendency gets worse over time and what is needed for us to stop procrastinating?
  • Why “to do” lists don’t work for most people and practical tips to get more things done over the day.
  • Why do we have BAD HABITS and how can we change them?

Moreover, You will also be surrounded by other like-minded people and do fun interactive tasks together. Moreover, you will receive a Certificate of Advanced Learning in Applied Neuroscience (4h), which you will be able to include in your CPD training list.
